Nougaro Façon Trombone is an exceptional band created by Lionel Segui.
The band is comprised of 4 trombone players (3 tenors including 1 alto and 1 bass) and a percussionist.
This creative project honors and compiles Claude Nougaro’s work in a brilliant way.
His inspirational music has been affiliated with Toulouse and France’s cultural heritage.
This dedication is to retrace the artist’s path. The original singer had ingeniously mixed the rhythm of the French language with some jazz themes to transform it into poetry.
Nougaro Façon Trombone takes us back to the original inspiration of the jazzman poetic type.
The other band’s distinctive feature is to give the public the pleasure of the trombone,
which is a great instrument. Its best description is it’s the closest sounding
instrument to the human voice.
The composer/arranger Jean Philippe Scali introduces an exclusive arrangement of
the greatest of Claude Nougaro’s masterpieces.
The audience will discover the richness and virtuosity of the trombone, an instrument
often relegated to a supporting role of accompaniment which is taking the soloist’s
place in this band, to echo the finest lyrics of this renowned artist.
